THANKS WALT DISNEY

Well that's Disney done and dusted! We've spent our last day and night there. During the day we brought the kids Disney pin "starter kits" so now they are collectors of Disney pins. In the kit your given a lanyard and about 4 Disney pins to keep or swap. Its a great hobby. All the cast members (that's just about anyone who works in the retail outlets) is given a new pin each day so they can swap them with the general public. Ngahuia brought a Fairy, Paraone a Lilo and Liam a Disney starter kit. They each took on their new hobby with a passion. Liam decided he wanted pins of all the main characters with hidden mickeys. Those are pins with a small silver mickey ears hidden somewhere on the pin. Ngahuia decided to get pins she just liked and as for Paraone he attacked it like a man possessed and spent over $80 US on pins (all his own money of course). He brought some pretty cool ones though. Every store we passed the kids had to go in and see if anyone would like to swap with them. People would randomly stop the kids to see if they had pins they wanted to swap ,it was great. That took up most of our day. We also thought it would be good as the kids could collect pins from the different places we visited on our travels. We wanted to do the rides we hadn't done before but the crowds on this day were huge it being Friday and school over for the year. We decided to "fast pass" (that's when you use your ticket to book an allocated time slot later in the day to go pretty much to the front of the cue.) the Indiana Jones ride as we liked it so much the last time. So, between that and the pin swapping that was our morning and afternoon. Oh the kids also got asked to be part of a cooking presentation were they made their own choc chip cookies. They did the classic at the end though and said they had to sprinkle fairy dust on them so that they would magically cook quickly. Ngahuia wasn't having a bar of it and said in a big voice when handed her cookie " these aren't our cookies". At about 2 we decided to go out of the park and have some lunch at Macdonalds (our 1st time in the US) and head back to the Hotel for a afternoon nap as we new it was going to be a late one that evening. Grant was the only one who slept though. The kids reckon they couldn't sleep because of his snoring. We returned to the park just before the 6pm street parade once again amazing but on the way to the Haunted House and Splash Mountain we caught the Fantasymania Show in Frontier Land. We thought we had seen it all but this show was absolutely amazing. It was like a huge Broadway Show on Water. A mixture of all the well known Disney feature films rapped up into a hour length extravaganza. There were lazer lights, holograms projected on to screens formed by jets of water being shot into the air, pyro technics, life size battles on Pirate ships, Dances on paddle steamers and of course the finale being the 30 min fireworks display, the photos will not do it justice. We decided then that this was a perfect note to end on for our Disney experience. All we can say is thanks Walt Disney your dream and vision has definitely made the world a happier place. Well at least Anahiem anyway.
