SHAMU SLAM - Seaworld

The Whanau but especially Sharon has just fallen in love with Shamu the Killer Whale. They are amazing animals their size, agility and intelligence have just blown us away. Their show was so professionally done and so entertaining. We liked it so much we had to go back again. The first time we sat in the "splash zone" and we got soaked. Later on that night we went back to see it again with the lights and Big screens (4 of them about 20m high). We are all now Killer Whale Conservationists ("Save the Whales, Save the Whales!!!"). We were lucky that it was mid week so the park was not very busy. We met a guy Bill, who worked at Seaworld, at the the gate who recognised our NZ accent straight away. He was great as he gave us a itinerary on the best way to catch all the shows . The kids got to feed and pat the Dolphins and hold starfish. We watched the Dolphins show, Pet Show, The Sea Lion and Otter Show, Ride the Wild Arctic Simulator, Rode the Atlantis Roller coaster 4 times because there was no line. All the shows were so professional they were like a Hollywood movie. We also got some caricature pictures drawn of the kids which are cool. Shamu and his family were definitely our family favourite!! The Kids have started collecting pressed coins (great souvenir as it only cost 50c US) so watch out Brooke Bridges (thats Ngahuia's best mate), who's got something like 27 coins and she has truely inspired Ngahuia to gather cool theme park momentos.
