While in Munich the Muru adventure continued with a bus tour to the castles of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. their are 3 beautiful and ornate castles located near the Austrian border. the 1st we visited after an 1 1/2 hour journey on the Auto bahn was Linderhoff a very ornately decorated castle and the only one of the 3 that was finished before Ludwigs death. Rumour has it he was assassinated as he was running the country into the ground building his castles. The second was probably the most recognisable of the 3. They say that this was the castle that Walt Disney modeled the Disneyland castle on. No need to say much about this day the pictures say it all. just to give you an indication of how ornate the rooms are. The last photo is of his bedroom wich took 14 carvers 3 years to complete. he never married (but a few mistresses) and had no chilren. I suppose in those days it was the ultimate batchelor pad. Just shows what you can achieve when there's no wife to put the breaks on.
