HASTINGS ON THE SEA

The Muru whanau spent a fantastic weekend with their special friends the Rabjohns (Karen, Ian, Amy, Andrew, Lucy and Mathew). Both families left Dunstable in convoy heading for Hastings on the first Friday of November. Sharon and Grant were a bit apprehensive about the journey due to previous experience of Friday's M25 congestion. Luckily the trip was relatively clear. The Dads decided to do a non stop trip which took approximately 3 hrs. On arrival at the Haven Park the Murus were shown to caravan 92 in Hillview while the Rabjohn checked out their muddy caravan. After complaints being laid and retribution sought they all decided have dinner at the restaurant. The meal were yummy and reasonably priced. After the kids finished with an ice cream for desert and Mathew almost falling asleep on the table everyone decided it would be good to get a good nights sleep and start early in the morning.
The next day Grant was up first for the Murus so decided to go for a recon. trip to the beach and "Battle" (yes that's its name) returning to the camp just as the others were stirring with chocolate croissants for breakfast. The first group activity of the day was a swim in the indoor pool. Unfortunately management doesn't allow people to take photos so Grant had to take some undercover.
The rest of the day was spent on the beach in Hastings. The kids played and splashed and we took some great photos. Mathew ended up in the drink

The families went to Hastings Castle and had dinner in one of the sea-side restaurants. before heading back to camp. In the evening the families enjoyed the slot machines and crowd participation songs and games.
